Sharer is an app I built to be able to share attractive, consistently formatted images of things I was consuming to social media. Films, TV shows, books, games and music.

Sharer (“the App”) is developed by The Robot Needs Home Collective Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad.
Summary
We do not collect, store, or sell any personal data. Sharer is designed to work without accounts, profiles, or server-side storage of your activity.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect, transmit to our own servers, or store:
- Your name, email address, or contact details
- Your location
- Lists of the movies, TV shows, books, games, or music you search for or share
- The images you generate within the App
- Any unique identifiers tied to you personally
Any content you create with the App (such as generated share images) stays on your device unless you choose to share it yourself using your device’s standard sharing tools.
Third-Party Services Used to Fetch Artwork and Information
To help you create share images, Sharer looks up artwork, titles, and related details (such as cover art, posters, or album art) for the movies, TV shows, books, games, or music you search for. To do this, the App sends your search terms to third-party content databases and APIs.
These requests are made directly from your device to the relevant third-party service in order to retrieve the artwork and metadata needed to build your share image. We do not receive, log, or store copies of these search queries ourselves.
Because these lookups are sent to third-party providers, your search terms (e.g. a film, show, book, game, or artist/album name) may be processed by those providers in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the relevant content providers used by the App if you have questions about how they handle search requests on their end.
Artwork and information retrieved through these services is used solely to generate your share image and is not retained by us after your session.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Sharer uses Apple’s built-in App Analytics and crash reporting tools. These are provided and operated by Apple as part of iOS/iPadOS and are governed by Apple’s own privacy policies. This data is aggregated and anonymized by Apple, and we do not use it to identify individual users.
You can control what analytics information is shared with app developers via Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements on your device.
Advertising and In-App Purchases
Sharer does not contain advertising, third-party advertising SDKs, or in-app purchases.
Children’s Privacy
Sharer does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since the App does not collect or store personal data, no such data is retained regardless of the user’s age.
Data Retention
As we do not collect or store personal data, there is no personal data for us to retain or delete. Any content you generate is stored locally on your device and is subject to your device’s own storage and backup settings (e.g. iCloud Backup), which are controlled by you, not us.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is generally no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on request. If you have any concerns about how the App works or believe this is incorrect, please contact us using the details below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the third-party services the App uses. Any changes will be posted at this same location with an updated “Last updated” date.
